Impossible love – poem

A story rooted in reality. A girl fell hard for an older colleague, but their story was impossible: she was young, and he was engaged. Still, it never stopped them from feeling something in every accidental touch.

You

Frozen eyes
Colored wild
Caught hers
Melodious,
Pleading

You smiled.

Sweet voice
Searching for mercy
She found it, briefly,
In the space between your breaths

Naive she was
Believing you
Could be her anchor
You skin reacts
Chilling
You just wish
It was feasable

Tall and confident
Sweet and hard
The magnetic pull
Kept her at bay
Until the mask slipped

Then came the truth
You’re someone’s
Not hers to claim
Too different, they’d say
Impossible, she feared

Your roads now split
Will this be the end?
She dreams to speak the words
But you,
Will you ever dare?
